Episode Seventy - Akeem

Episode Seventy - Akeem
BEHOLD - The words used by Slick to Mene Gene in a smokey back alley on WWF Challenge back in late 1988, and with a puff of smoke, and a bit of tribal dancing, the One Man Gang was reimagined, was reborn even, as Akeem the African Dream! A white American playing an African Native who enjoyed a bit of jiving. So why was the One Man Gang recast into this cultrally insensitive, bizarre gimmick, and more importantly for the WWF, did this actually work? Well join the Better Call Creative podcast as the boys review the full WWF run of Akeem taking in two wrestlemania's and three saturday night main event's as well as a few other welcome pitstops along the way. Then two of the boys take the task of rebooking the run of Akeem in the WWF to salvage this doomed character, with our other brother re-imaginging what Akeem could have been in the WWF in 90s Attitude...
And as wrestling has never been too sensitive to cultural gimmicks, we fantasy card a six match card of other bizarre insensitive, and inaccurate geographical gimmicks either from the past or from the deepest darkest recesses of our minds!
He's a Jive Soul Bro, and well, he'd Better Call Creative, and find out who gave him this gimmick!
