Wrestlecup Episode - Worst 90s GimmickSome of us look back at the 90s very fondly. Be it Britpop or the emergence of the Internet. The 90s was an amazing decade full of iconic moments. Wrestling much like in the 80s, was a big part of the 90s, with the emergence of Attitude from the New Generation at the turn of the decade! Out was saying your prayers, and in was flipping off the boss, but not everything in the 90s can be remembered fondly. It featured some of the strangest, bizarre characters and gimmicks you could ever think of, be it The Goon, or TL Hopper, the Yeti or Beaver Cleavage, this decade had some of the worst bits of wrestling's past! Well for the first time in 2022 Better Call Creative dust off the Wrestlecup to crown the worst 90s wrestling gimmick! A 32 random draw knockout tournament will crown our winner and be for ever known as the Worst of Wrestlings 90s Gimmicks!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/better-call-creative-wrestling-podcast--3014789/support.

Episode Seventy Nine - Victory Road 2009After a few good years in TNA history, the company had pulled over 1 million viewers, moved to prime time on Saturday Nights, and acquired some top talent! By 2009 though, the company was in a little lull period. Big names like Mick Foley, Booker T and Kevin Nash were no longer turning heads, and there was a big Red and Yellow storm cloud coming! Victory Road 2009 could sum up a time period in 3 hours. The Main Event Mafia was running rough shot over TNA led by the Godfather Kurt Angle, the X Division was no longer a focal point for the company, pushed aside for the Legends Title, and in a desperate attempt to draw new eyes, Jenna Morasca, a z list American celebrity was pulled in for American Survivor. What that resulted in, many would call the worst match in TNA History. It's Victory Road 2009, opening with the immortal lines, I Will become...but what it became, is one of the worst TNA ppvs of all time!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/better-call-creative-wrestling-podcast--3014789/support.

WATCHALONG EPISODE - Hulk Hogan's Rock N WrestlingWrestling experiences Boom periods and other times when it hits a lull. We all know the boom time in the late 90s, when Attitude reigned and Austin and Goldberg ruled the tv sets, but it should never be forgotten how popular Wrestling was in the mid to late 80s. Driven by MTV, this period has been dubbed the Rock N Wrestling era since, and one man led front and centre. HULK! SO popular was he, that he dominated pop culture as a whole, front the WWF's attempt to break into the Saturday Morning Cartoon market, with Hulk Hogan's Rock n Wrestling! So why did this show not get off the ground? Was it down to the questionable choices to give voice actors to all the characters, (some much better than others...James Avery), or was the quality just not there? We head back to watch an episode through adult eyes to see if we can work out why Rock n Wrestling is only really remembered now by the 80s wrestling fan! So head over to Youtube, and pop on our podcast, and enjoy Rock n Wrestling, with Better Call Creative!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/better-call-creative-wrestling-podcast--3014789/support.

Episode Seventy Eight: King of the Ring 2000The year 2000 was a banner year for the WWF and the biggest commercial success of the brand. One of the staple events the King of the Ring however was losing it's luster after a few below par King's were crowned in years gone by. The 2000 King of the Ring went on to highlight the depth of roster by featuring a mammoth 32 men, and one in particular was going to have the greatest debut year in WWF History to that point. So why are Better Call Creative reviewing this event, well it featured a six man tag match...for the WWF Title, and the first..and hopefully only, ever, Hardcore Evening Gown Match for the Hardcore Title between Pat Paterson and Gerald Briscoe. So was this a wrestling gem, or a wrestling nightmare? Find out as Better Call Creative review the whole King of the RIng ppv and tournament and reimagine what the event could have been. A fantasy card featuring 32 other wrestling kings rounds out this royal review of one of the weirdest yet often missed staples of the Wrestling Calendar.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/better-call-creative-wrestling-podcast--3014789/support.

WATCHALONG EPISODE - Titanes En El Ring - El Hombre Vegetal v Richard ShumanSo we might have peaked here folks. As Better Call Creative check out wrestling promotions that they may not pick up in there normal storylines and pay per views, we land in Argentina and Titanes En El Ring. A hidden gem of bad wrestling, so bad it might be great, the Better Call Creative Boys are reviewing a match between El Homre Vegetal(or Broccoli Man) versus the somehow even stranger creation of Richard Shuman. A match that features hip tosses, a dancing vegetable and a wig used as a weapon, then blamed for the loss...it well...is bizarre in the extreme. It has to be experienced in watchlong to truly enjoy this, so expect a video to drop next week for the audio, but in the meantime, check this out on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZT977BRhZg and sit back and enjoy this with the BCCpod boys....oh and my good, somebody better call creative.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/better-call-creative-wrestling-podcast--3014789/support.

Episode Seventy Seven - UWF Beach BrawlBack in the early nineties WWF was running away with the wrestling industry....like today! It's audience had started to wane....like today. And a new upstart with great TV connections was ready to take on Vince McMahon....only he liked cocaine and hookers...i'll leave that one alone! After we checked out how the UWF ultimately failed to gain any traction and fail miserably in 1994, we are hopping back three years to its first PPV, another Brawl but this time a Beach Brawl. A stacked card of wrestling hall of famers, Wrestlemania main eventers to come, and larger than life chracters, this is a promotion with all the potential in the world...so why did this 10k seater stadium only sell 550 tickets? Well there is only one way to find out, you'd better call creative!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/better-call-creative-wrestling-podcast--3014789/support.

WATCHALONG EPISODE - The Villanos vs. Psycho Circus (AAA)One of the premier events in the Wrestling calendar, Triplemania from the Triple A promotion in Mexico has recently experienced more main stream exposure thanks to the likes of the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. Back in 2013 Triplemania was in it's 21st year, and featured a match that has lived in infamy ever since. A match that Dave Meltzer found so sense offensively bad that he dished out one of his famous negative five stars for. It's Villano's III, IV and V going up against the Psycho Circus of Psycho Clown, Murder Clown and Monster Clown...but was this match that bad? Was Dave Meltzer dishing out a bad score because of personal taste...or was this match every bit deserving of it. Well join the Better Call Creative lads as they sit down to watch this match for the first time. After this i think we will all be calling creative don't you!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/better-call-creative-wrestling-podcast--3014789/support.

Episode Seventy Six - In Your HouseIn 1995 to answer the refreshed vision of WCW led by the ambitious Eric Bischoff, Vince McMahon and the WWF would react to the increase in the Wrestling ppv market with the launch of In Your House. On May 14th 1995 the very first In Your House was delivered live, on pay per view. In your Face, in Your House! The event was main evented by Big Daddy Cool Diesel and Psycho Sid and the rest is consigned to a chin lock worthy place in wrestling infamy! Well join the Better Call Creative lads as they hope back 27 years to the day, to review this 2 hour show! A Show that included a debut, a handicap match, two Bret Hart matches, and the give away...of a house! It could only be 1995 WWF, and we are knee deep in the New Generation Era!
